Diagnostics - old version

I have a 4 month old Toshiba 22dv501 TV in a bedroom. I was having problems getting and keeping channel 44 i.e. ITV1, Ch4, Ch5 etc. No problems with any other channels. TV went back to Toshiba to be repaired. Meanwhile I used an old TV with set top box and same aerial cable. No problems with channel44. Toshiba TV is back but after losing channel44 again I retuned and now cannot get any of ITV1, Ch4, Ch5 etc. Toshiba told me to plug TV into another aerial to try and isolate whether it is the TV or the aerial. So I plugged TV into lounge aerial where my LG TV works fine, and retuned but still couldn't pick up ch44. I can only summise that it is the TV and not the aerial. Never had this problem before buying this Toshiba TV. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi. I have recently bought a Toshiba 22DV501 tv for a bedroom. I've had real problems keeping the multiplex channel 44 ( itv1,2,3,ch4,5 etc). My postcode iis Leeds LS8 and I think that is the Emsley Moor transmitter. I lost multiplex 44 last weekend and could not pick it up on a manual retune all week. I had the aerial man booked in to come today and hey presto the channels are back this morning! All other channels fine and the previous tv in this bedroom worked fine. All other tv's in house fine- it is just multiplex44 on this particular tv. Any coincidence with the good weather? Toshiba insist it is my aerial and not the tv and have said I need a higher gain antenna. Not sure what to do! Any advice much appreciated. Thanks

Dave. We have one aerial on the roof and 5 Tv points in the house. The lounge has an amplification box and there are 2 splitter boxes (I would imagine that's what they are) outside. What's confusing is that all other tv's are fine. I tried the offending Toshiba tv in the lounge and a manual tune still wouldn't pick up multiplex44 despite the lounge tv having no problem. Aerial man tested bedroom signal a few months ago and said it was fine, but he came on a day when there wasn't a problem! Is it relevant that it is multiplex44 channels and all others are fine? The retailer where I bought the tv said some 'modern' tv's don't have great signal reception power (if you know what I mean!). Does this extra info help? Thanks
