Thanks for that. I had a chat with the aerial man and he came to put a filter on the roof bits. This has stopped the Yorkshire signal coming through and we have mux 2 channels. They seem fine during the day and yet now from tea-time they are dropping for anywhere from 10 - 20 seconds a time.
This makes the programmes un-watchable Im sorry to say.
Are you saying that we could try a winter hill aerial? This is getting to be a bit expensive and time consuming. I really thought digital would mean great pictures and reception.
I will talk to the aerial man again though we are running out of time because this is a holiday let and we have guests coming in from 14 Dec to 5 Jan!
Would it be worth cutting our losses and getting a satelite system installed?
Thanks very much for your help so far.

Hi again,
Interestingly the signal seems much improved in terms of the numbers of times that the signal drops after 9pm, much reduced in how often it happens.
would fitting a filter inside help too?
Thanks and bye for now.

KMJ: Thanks very much, we seem to think the same and Ive spoken to the aerial man about it but he didnt seem convinced and so fitted the filter to stop the signal from skipton. I also checked and think that the channels overlap from Pendle Forest and Skipton so I think that the filter - only blocking out the other channels from outside the Pendle Forest transmissions - wont work.
So, Im just wondering where that leaves me in talking to the aerial man.
Is it diffucult oand/or costly to put the two aerials together, I guess something needs to be done to join the signals.
Im going to ring him tomorrow.
Thanks everyone.

Dave Lindsay: KMJ: jb38: Thanks for your very comprehensive responses.
The problem is that every time you try something else there is more cost involved and of course its not guaranteed.
I will speak to the aerial man and get him to put the Skipton aerial up and that should solve the problem.
Ill get back to you all.
Cheers again.

Colne
Hi,
we are in BB8 7PL, Foulridge and have an aerial that points to Pendle Forest. We have an outdoor aerial that comes into the house and a booster box, 3 separate cables put 3 points into the house, 2 downstairs 1 upstairs.
We are getting lots of drop out and pixelation on mux 2. The aerial man has turned down the signal strength at the aerial end to rule out an overly strong signal but this has made the problem worse.
At the moment we have one outdoor aerial but notice that our neighbours have two - we think one pointing to Pendle Forest and one to Winter Hill.
The part of Foulridge we are in is the lower part of the village with trees in front of us too.
I am going to ring the aerial man and ask what sort of aerial we have (group A or a wideband), he is local and has been fitting aerials int he area for years, very well established and thought of.
The other thing is that our 32 sharp TV is not as good at keeping the signal as our smaller bush TV.
We are thinking of getting a set top digi box to see if that fixes the problem or the other answer we think is to have a second aerial fitted, as our neighbours.
Any help, suggestions greatly appreciated. its driving us mad!!!!
Thanks
Lesley.
