i put a comment on saturday but I can't see it now! I wondered if anyone could advise me...For the last month I was successfully watching and recording freesat with my mum's old sky+box and white viewing card (no subscription). The other night it stopped working and could not find a signal (signal test blank). I tried unplugging/ re-setting and all sorts after googling. I know my dish is ok as I can watch (but not record) using my sisters old hd box. I would love to have my planner back! Is there anything to try or have sky now killed the card and box? Or maybe the box has broken but the card might work in another one? thanks!

cate: hello, thanks for your posts. I think it was a fluke it was working - noone could believe it! I can only think that the box has now packed it in as it will not let me watch anything at all now. but good idea, I could try plugging it in at my sister's house.
i know my dish is ok as I am using a replacement box at the moment. Just sad my planner has gone! :(

hello,
for the last month i have been successfully using my mum's old sky+ box and white viewing card to watch and record free channels without a subscription! (she got a new hd box and card). However the other night it suddenly stopped working and said 'no signal'. I couldn't figure if sky has sent the "kill record" signal and it has hit home, although I thought I would be able to still watch free channels if so? I've tried all the unplugging/ resetting etc. I know it's not my dish as my sisters old box works to view (not record). Is it simply that the old box has kicked the bucket? thank you!
