Below are all of Sid's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.A good aerial company would have known about the engineering work at the sutton coldfield transmitter. It has been ongoing for over a year now.Its to get ready for the digital switch over, Have you been out of the country to not know this?

re: Topfield box
The reason it worked on your previous retunes and not this time may be due to a mode change in transmission standards.
Kit that does not have the digital tick on the freeview label may not conform to the newer standard.
You need to check out the Digital uk web site for a list of boxes and Tv sets that are known to give issues.

The commercial stations change over next week on the 20th on the Wrekin transmitter. You should then get everything on freeview including the HD ones.Regarding your Alba box some very early ones were built for the ONdigital spec and not the later Freeview spec so after the change over in your area may not work due to transmission mode changes. Try a full factory reset/new install rather than a retune.

BBC4 on ch63? this was switched off on 6th April as part of DSO switchover part 1.
It is now on ch28.
From the 20th April part 2 of DSO should happen. You will find CH21+/CH22+/CH24/CH25/CH27/CH28 should give you all of the Freeview channels available including HD.

Muxco Gloucestershire and Muxco Hereford/Worcestershire have been promising to launch very soon since they were awarded licences way back in 2007.Are they now failed companies? Does anyone know as their respective web sites have been dormant since late 2010?

Can confirm similar findings regarding the Sutton HD Multiplex as showing 20% less strength compared to the other Multiplexes which are showing as 100% here in Worcester WR.

HD Multiplex (40)from Sutton 20% down compared to all the other multiplexes here in WR4.
Similar situation on the HD Multiplex(30) from Bromsgrove.
It seems HD signal is not as resiliant?

DAB 5KW Transmitter from Malvern. This is a first for this site as Malvern did not previously transmit any DAB. Yes MUXCO say they will transmit their regional DAB multiplex from here. This should carry the BBC local stations for Hereford & Worcester also BBC Radio Gloucestershire.
MUXCO have gone very quiet since last year and have not updated their web site for a very long time. Their early 2011 launch date is slipping away.
