HD Multiplex (40)from Sutton 20% down compared to all the other multiplexes here in WR4.

Similar situation on the HD Multiplex(30) from Bromsgrove.

It seems HD signal is not as resiliant?

Rich:
The problem with media center is that the only visable tuning indication is a row of dots that that move from left to right as it tunes up the UHF band.
This would mean that it tunes into the Sutton Multiplexes 39 to 46 before the Malvern ones in the 50s.
There is no way you can find the actual Ch numbers in Media Center.

Brian
I know I have mentioned this before DSO:
The predictor for my postcode WR4 does not mention Bromsgrove. Since DSO power increase this transmitter is now considered the second most receivable after Sutton Coldfield for the north side of Worcester.
Doing a quick straw poll by looking out of my upstairs windows at the aeriaIs on my neibours roofs I see 12 on Sutton (V),5 on Bromsgrove (H)2 on Malvern (V), and 2 on Wrekin (H)

Kind Regards

ps : I have been a great fan of your site for many years and find it a great source of information. I read your updates most days.

I notice that the engineering events on Sutton always state that digital tv working normally but in practice I always notice a severe drop in the HD signal.

Sutton Coldfield (Birmingham, England) DAB transmitter
Wednesday 29 February 2012 10:00AM
Worcester

On Sunday evening here in Worcester I became aware there was no BBC DAB Multiplex 12b reception on all of my sets around the house, this went on until Monday morning. All other dab multiplexes were fine.
I could not find any details of failure or Engineering work relating to this on any web sites.
An automated reply from the BBC trouble shooting guide advised me to:
1.Retune
2.Fit a DAB aerial
3.Consult a Aerial installer.
The BBC national DAB came back on briefly just before 9am and then went off again. it returned later that morning and is still on.

Any info on this failure please

What makes you think they will?

I think they have been messing around with the power levels since sometime in January on ch39 & ch40 from Sutton in the Midlands. Wenvo in South Wales has moved one of its multiplexes to 39+ in between Suttons ch39 & ch40.
Both these transmitters are high power main ones for their respective regions.
Most of Suttons power is directed southerly to cover Birmingham/West Midlands and down into Worcestershire and Wenvo has a lot of its power pointed north.
