My comment is on JB 38's answer to Duncan written on 14 January.
"Duncan: Yes, you can certainly connect the Humax as you have suggested, but however, unfortunately as far as recordings are concerned no PVR device, no matter brand it might be, can record from an external source as they are all designed to record purely from their internal tuners."
A couple of years ago I purchased a Philips DVDR3570H which has an analogue tuner. The reason being I only had an RF input from an old analogue satellitereceiver. Prior to DSO, I purchased a new Goodmans' Freeview box and have recently upgraded the satellite receiver to digital (for my wife to watch German TV from Astra at 19.2E). Both of these are connected by Scarts to the Philips DVDR3570H as is a spare DVD player using audio/video leads.
The recorder operates perfectly recording from any these inputs so I believe the wording of your answer was somewhat misleading.
