Emley Moor (Kirklees, England) transmitter
Wednesday 7 March 2012 3:24PM

richard caywood: ITV3 appears as though it may be missing from all transmitter pages on this site. I checked Hannington, Stockland Hill and Sudbury and ITV3 is not shown.

It should be given as the first service on COM4: SDN.

Briantist, can you shed any light on this?

Carole: I should add a qualification to the above "Your current aerial is expected to be suitable for digital services" **if it is directed at Findon**.

Lee Woollard: The likely answer as to when the services will be broadcast from the Kendal and Kendal Fell transmitters is never. See here for an explanation:

Will there ever be more services on the Freeview Light transmitters? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice

You may be lucky and be in a spot that you can pick the signals from Lancaster transmitter which carries the Commercial services. You may or may not need a larger than normal aerial.

Lynda: BBC Two analogue has been switched off and the frequency is used to occupy is now used for full power BBC standard definition digital.

Your receiver was quite correct not to record because there was nothing to record due to the fact that the transmitter was switched off overnight just after midnight!

Carole: You should be able to receive BBC standard definition TV and radio services on Freeview now. They all broadcast on the frequency that BBC Two analogue used to use.

phil: Switchover happens at your transmitter on 4th April and 18th April. On 4th BBC channels will be available on Freeview and on 18th the rest will follow.

Switchover starts in West Sussex
Wednesday 7 March 2012 5:34PM

Janet Ferris: Satellite signals have nothing to do with the (terrestrial) switchover so you won't have to retune satellite equipment.

I believe that your aerial is pointing at Whitehawk Hill. I looked at your street on Google Streetview and that's where they're all pointing.

ITV on analogue is on the channel that BBC Two used to occupy, so press number 2 and you should get ITV. I think that it is BBC Two analogue which you no longer have.

The final stage of switchover is in two weeks time on 21st March when you will have to retune again and when the other analogue services close.

Neil Soane: Mux D from Midhurst has the lowest transmission power of the lot at 1kW. Others are at 2kW and Mux D is 2.5kW. It's not quite as simple as that because there are different modes and some are more rugged than others.

I would try manually tuning if you can. If not, then (as sure as we can ever be) the increase in power next week should solve your problems.

Switchover starts in West Sussex

John Connor: Some receivers give this choice which is a choice of "Network". This is basically asking you which transmitter you want in cases where more than one has been picked up. So leave it on "South".

angela: Only BBC services are broadcast in digital at the moment. The others will follow on 21st March. Until then, you will have to view Meridian and Channel 4 on analogue.
