Below are all of Colin Boggis's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Last night in Bransgore - lost channel 37 almost entirely - some programmes just working e.g. BBC News but others no signal e.g Sky News.
All OK this morning.
Was Channel 37 on low power after 10pm last night?

Despite your prediction, Salisbury is NOT receivable at BH23 8AE. Rowridge is predominant and poor. I would expect Rowridge to be fine after switchover - I doubt Salisbury will be better!

After switchover there will be simultaneous transmission on both vertical & horizontal planes. Would mounting an aerial with the elements at 45 degrees improve signal or degrade it? And would it matter if they were rotated anticlockwise or clockwise?

Looking at predicted reception in Bransgore, am I right in thinking that after April 18th we will only be able to receive all mux's with a VERTICAL polarised aerial? The DigitalUK website seems to suggest so. It shows only 3 mux's still on HORIZONTAL polarisation after that date. Or am I going barmy?

Colin: Thanks for your replies - I'll wait & see then! I hope to be able to dispense with the outside aerial and use a loft one instead once the signal levels are boosted. I realise this is a retrograde step but if it works OK it makes it much easier to experiment between vertical & horizontal polarity & to maintain the antenna in the future.

Regularly we are told , if you can receive analogue you'll get digital OK when switchover takes place, even if you cannot at present. Nobody ever mentions that there may be many problems for those receiving digital at present through an amplified system (because the current signal is very weak) - I anticipate many issues when the signal goes up tenfold and the amplifiers overload!
