After retuning several times (automatic, manual, full scan, normal scan) with no change and zero signal showing on channels 55 & 56, despite fitting a new high gain wideband aerial, I eventually gave up.
However, yesterday, I gave it another go. Miraculously all the moved / disappeared channels magically reappeared and I have them all back. The signal strength on channels 55 & 56 is now showing 97% with 100% signal quality. I have not touched anything in the intervening period, so what changed? The Fenton transmitter has been showing no problems since the switchover, but clearly something has happened to resolve the issue.

Hi,
I am unable to receive any TV channels from from COM7/8 at ST5 3JW which is less than 4 miles from the Fenton transmitter (which can be seen from the top of our roof) and relatively high elevation for the area (492 above sea level). I can receive most other freeview channels using a wire coat hanger for an aerial, but absolutely no signal detected by the TV (fairly new Sony Bravia) for Channels 55 & 56. I have bought and fitted a new Labgear 48 element wideband aerial which is located in the loft, vertically polarised and with the direction set to 79 degrees using a compass, but no difference. I would appreciate any helpful advice as to what the problem may be.
Thanks,
Nev
