Can anyone confirm signal reports for
ARQB on CH55.

I am stil finding it be lower powered compared the other 100kw mux's.

Thanks for the info guys, Ch55 certainly gone up in power from before but still seems a little short compared to the other mux's

Have to see what the end of the month brings.

Just wondered what peoples signal level of Com 7 was like compared to Com 8?, I am in a fringe area of Glossop, and currently cant get any signal on Com 7 at all but can get Com 8 fine, and according to this site Com 7 is meant to be higher power, strange.

Glossop

Thanks for your reply's my postcode is SK13 8NB, I have now changed from a loft mounted Unix 32, to a K group 18 Element Yagi externally mounted, to try to cover all bases upto and after the 700mhz clearance.

I can now get Com 7 at about 57% signal strength vs Com 8 at about 86%, until now I wasn't aware Com7 being on channel 55, from memory 55 was always abit poor at my location going back to the early Ondigital days on even a C/D Unix 52 from memory now long-gone.

For reference on ch59 a 100kw mux i get about 90% signal strength and 92% on ch49 also 100kw, I guess thats due to the gain falling off on the higher frequency's

I have lost BBC 4 HD since its multiplex moved to CH55 Com7, I have always had real trouble with anything on that channel, I am in Glossop so can only guess I am getting multipath interference from maybe Emley Moor and or Moel-Y-Parc, I have a 18 element K group Yagi on a pole, any techy people got any ideas on what could resolve?, as a comparison I get about 55% signal strength and quality on the much lower CH57 GIM mux.

I have lost C55 746mhz, C57 762mhz the past couple of days with just the odd
flash of pixilation and sound every few seconds but nothing watchable when it was fine a few days earlier. Interestingly CH56 754mhz is still perfect at 82% strength 100% quality.

I believe this is probably due to new 5G in the area, is it worth trying to get a filter
or will these MUX's be switched off very soon anyway, no amps in use btw.

Many thanks for your reply Chris. I wasn't aware it was actually posting as I kept getting an
error performing query evertime I submitted my post.

You are indeed correct what I thought was CH56 is actually CH24 on which I can pick up
That's TV Manchester ok. What I thought was CH57 is actually CH27 with the GIM Mux that's
breaking up but I have watched it fine before. CH55 was fine until just before the weekend and I haven't changed anything with the setup to explain it.

I haven't had a postcard but I have had this in the local press TV interference in Glossop as mobile networks upgraded - Quest Media Network - Tameside Radio, Tameside Reporter, Oldham Reporter, Glossop Chronicle

I'm really not sure where the mast would be and yes I do have good CT100 type coax. I shall see if I can get a filter if they are free it cant hurt to try I guess.

I contacted Restore TV and they confirmed new 700mhz 5G activity in my area. Basically told me COM7 is going as we know so just tough you lost it early from the interference.

They did send me a 700mhz filter which as expected totally wiped out any signal at all on COM7
but it has interestingly taken the signal quality up on CH27 GMAN from about 55% to 80%. I expect the main reason for that is my K group aerial being at its most resonant in the 700mhz region.

I shall wait to see what happens longterm with the HD channels on Freeview but may well end up moving to Freesat.
