Jo Xenos: Sadly, only a small number of TV Channels are required to add subtitles to the programmes that they broadcast by the rules governing broadcasting. Smaller and/or newer channels like Move Mix are not required to add subtitles. It would cost the channel a significant amount of money to add subtitles of their own to the programmes that they broadcast. So there is no commercial incentive for the channel to add subtitles.

It would require a change in the law to force a TV channel like True Entertainment, Quest, Movie Mix etc. etc. to add subtitles. You could complain to your local MP about the lack of subtitles on many TV channels. At the end of the day it is MP's who create the rules governing TV broadcasting.

The BBC2 TV programme "See Hear" campaigns on issues of importance to deaf and hearing impaired people - perhaps you could ask them to raise the issue direct with the broadcaster and OFCOM on your behalf.

Yes, the link at the top of the page for the City TV website needs to be deleted as it is now hosting a loan company website! The reason for this is shown below:-

The licence for local TV in Birmingham has been given to another group after City TV went into administration without broadcasting any programmes.

Regulator Ofcom said it had agreed to transfer the licence to Kaleidoscope TV Limited, which has until 28 February to get on air. The group's commitments include 41 hours of new local programmes a week.

It emerged in August that City TV, also known as BLTV, had gone into administration, three months before its deadline to start broadcasting.

Kaleidoscope's commitments include a half-hour programme of news at 18:00 and 22:00 and 23 hours a week of new local programmes in peak time - between 18:00 and 22:30.

Kaleidoscope TV's website is at:-

Kaleidoscope TV

Kaleidoscope may be a familiar name to some as the Birmingham-based classic British TV archive. This article on their website has some technical info on Kaleidoscope TV and even a broadcast map showing the intended transmission coverage area.

mary bailey: True Entertainment did this the last time they broadcast Seesaw in 2014. They broadcast episodes 1 and 2 but never broadcast episode 3.

It is highly unlikely that any channel, no matter how cheapjack, would only buy in two episodes of a programme and not the third.

My best guess is that there is a compliance issue with the content of episode 3 that would prevent them from showing that episode. Sadly, unless the issue is resolved they will be unable to broadcast the episode as to do so would breach broadcast regulations.

True Entertainment

Frank Palmer: Yes, I'm afraid that they did that last year when they showed Take Me on True Entertainment. They broadcast a block containing the first three episodes. Then did not broadcast episodes 4,5 and 6 - prompting a flurry of similar questions on this website. I am not sure if they did ever broadcast them later in the year, but if they did it must have been quite some time after the first batch.

I have checked the True Entertainment schedule for the next 14 days - and Take Me is not listed for transmission during that period. I use the LocateTV website and you can ask it to notify you by e-mail when a specific programme appears in the 14 day listings.

A pretty daft way of broadcasting a six part series I think you will agree.
