Mark A.: Yes, I make a point of not covering non-free services, as I have to keep some focus. I've updated all the channel details to include the new channels numbers for fSfS.

Mike Maunder: This does tend to happen with loft-mounted aerials. Can you please see the Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice page?

neo: You could write to Sky and complain, ask them to provide what you want.

stu brown: Please see Channel One to close, Challenge to come to Freeview | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

Sky are perfectly entitled do as they wish with their bandwidth. Freeview slots work in a free-market.

Mikey.B: Sky are quite entitled to do as they wish with their channels, the company paid fairly and squarely for the right to close the channel down and move the programmes to subscription services.

Steve KL: Very curious, you should be getting perfectly acceptable reception of at least some of the multiplexes.

I would start by checking the Freeview reception has changed? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice page.

Parsnip: OK, here goes.

"If I stop my sky subscription but still want the option of all or most of the channels I have now, do I need to buy a Freeview or Freesat box? "

You don't need to buy anything if you just want to watch the free channels. Just stop paying Sky.

"If yes, what happens to my viewing ie which channels will I not be able to view? "

See All free-to-watch channels | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice under "fSfS" (Freesat from Sky).

"Do I also need to keep my Sky boxes and cards? "

Yes, the expired cards provide the Sky3, Fiver and Five USA and correct BBC and ITV regions.

"Will I still be able to re-wind, pause live tv etc? "

This is where you would need to replace the Sky+ box with a Freesat+ box, because without a subscription a Sky+ box will not play/pause/record.

Changing a Sky+ box for a Freesat+ box is a five minute job.

Andy: It's not a reduction as Channel One has been replaced with Challenge.
