Peter: That's good news from a broadcaster efficieny point-of-view, not so good if you have a, what we will now have to call "old fashioned" DVB-S card.

Freesat don't "do" boxes anyway, various companies make Freesat-branded boxes.

Scott: It's not the "bad weather", rain has little effect on terrestrial transmission (unless it gets into your cables), the problem was the High Pressure causing Inversion over distant analogue transmitters. See What is the Inversion Effect and why does it effect my Freeview TV reception?

Heather Martinez: OK. I would expect that there is water getting into your aerial cables. You will probably need to have the aerial cables replaced.

gemma: Sky will install the dish where you, or your landlord, asks them to.
Normally they will put it anywhere for the "standard charge".
If you wish to pick somewhere, please refer to the diagram in the article at the top of the page. You need a south-facing wall that can see the sun in the early afternoon.

Ryan: Sky+ requires a Sky subscription to play/pause/record. If you want to play/pause/record without paying Sky, you need a Freesat+ or Freesat+HD box.
