Kay: The only disadvantage is you need to get a new TV, if you are going to be getting one you save yourself the bother of an extra box, cables, remote control and plug.

David: If you find it so troublesome, you can buy a Freeview HD box, the software will present a menu of regions if it sees more than one when it scans, and allocates the channels numbers as per the choice you make.

Sunflower: Once you change the value to a different channel you will need to retune your set to that channel, unless you are connected via a SCART cable (on the mains set) where it will have no direct effect.
