Diane King: I would take the VCR to the recycling centre as it no longer any use. If you want to record from Freeview, get a Freeview+ or Freeview+HD box.

lesnicol: It's always nice to hear when a company gets a dose of their own medicine. Having been involved with that particular company and their (let say) business practices over the years I find your posting most heart-warming.

Emley Moor (Kirklees, England) transmitter

Ross T: Don't worry, 80% signal level is as high as you want it - see Freeview signals: too much of a good thing is bad for you | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice - any more would be a troublesome overload. Remember it is the quality that matters, not the "power level".

Steve P: Most people find it unacceptable that they can't record something that they are not watching already, because the VCR has only analogue tuners. A Freeview+ box is much, much easier to use than a VCR.

Hacker: If you don't have any problems with reception, then leave everything as it is. You *may* have extra issues when the 4G mobile networks start using the old TV frequencies in 2013, but you will be provided with a free filter if that is the case.

BILL MILLS: The transmitter is operating normally, it was only down from 00:15-02:22 yesterday for switchover.

You have no provided a postcode, so I can't be sure of the reasons for your problem. You might need to see Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice or Freeview signals: too much of a good thing is bad for you | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

Alison Gold: You need to ensure whichever aerial cable was plugged into the "RF2 out" of your old Sky box is plugged in to the "RF2 out" of your new box.
