Whitehaven in Cumbria bore the brunt of the digital changeover. We were exempt as we were on sky but after 24 years we have moved to you view which uses free view. However when I tune in I get only a fraction of the full set of programmes - can anything be done. With Youview we will at some stage be able to get the full set via broadband but only when fibre appears. No one and I mean no one is able to say when this will happen. Does anyone at bt open world have any plans?

The bbc versus sky comparison misses the fact that BBC also programme all the radio stations and have developed the excellent iplayer. I cant think of any sky programmes that have attracted me. Also look how much sky charges for things like HD programmes. I left sky and moved to BT but 12 months later was tempted back to sky by a 75% offer for the full package for a year. We would be a far poorer nation without the BBC. Just look at the state of TV in the states

Hi
Swapping to free view. Retuned tv but no stations found. Snowing outside. S Bigrigg down? Sattelite also off but snow probable cause. Is this the local service we use in emergencies?
