David Jackson: Thanks jb38. My neighbour, who is also a friend has previously boasted to me about the power he has harnessed for his CB ground station, and has claimed to have had conversations with the Antipodes, given suitable atmospheric conditions. The Digital pictures breakup and freeze, generally with loss of sound. The Analogue will have a 'waterfall' type overlay scrolling down the screen. Waterfall= sinusoidal type wave forms across screen scrolling downwards

David Jackson: Hi jb38. Have been and had words with the CB man. He tells me he has not been using his kit for a while, and was very pleased that I went for a chat with him about it, just in case it had been him! We have another suspect called E2V. This particular rogue has been a curse for many years to local residents. I think we were hoping that they would not affect digital signal; some hope. Andy did mention that he actually had E2V managers sat in his house one day to try and track down which of their equipment was causing the problem, and also that he has gone over to Sky and no longer suffers from the interference.
Thanks again for your interest.

I think I understand. Thank God that the powers that be have not arranged things such that any TV equipment that I might buy would not be made obsolete by this rearrangement

It does seem silly that we could be heading down the road of incompatibility re 700Mhz/4G. We went thru all this rubbish about standard interfaces with RS232; don't people ever learn?
If US have got there first and settled the broadcast frequencies, then surely , while changing everything around ourselves, does it not make sense to adopt same specification?? I read somewhere that Apple have run into trouble selling iPad with 4G in Australia because it does not work with Australian system;need I say more??

Although I read this site, most of it I don't understand. However, I would like to share something which might shed light on some problems. I live in Chelmsford, Essex. I use a single aerial (external) which has a powered splitter attached. One cable runs down to my Panasonic TV, the other to a Philips TV. The Panasonic has tuned itself to London, the Philips to Anglia. (This is because of the local news shown ) How many reported problems are a result of the TV tuner I ask myself
