Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Quarndon (Derby, England) mast?
DAB: Off the air due to a fault from 22 Nov 01:30 until 22 Nov 02:30. Off the air due to a fault from 22 Nov 01:00 until 22 Nov 01:14. .
UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

Will Radio Derby be using this transmitter - as all other eeforts to get Derby on DAB have failed.

Dave : Not until 2013 or later, as there is no "Derbyshire" local radio multiplex for BBC Radio Derby to go onto: there is not BBC Radio Derby on DAB.

Dave: The longer version is that the BBC are not allowed to set up their own local DAB multiplexes, they have to wait for Ofcom to license a local commercial multiplex to carry their local radio stations, and for that multiplex to start broadcasting.

Dave :
We have fantastic DAB reception now the Quarndon transmitter is on but it still sounds terrible. Radio 2 reminds me of its AM days, Radio 3 seems to change its sound quality and World Service sounds like a mobile phone call. We gave up on DAB as reception was always bubbly. Now its fine but tiring to listen to. Are we doing something wrong?
