This transmitter has no current reported problems

The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Ventnor (Isle Of Wight, England) transmitter.

UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. We have computed the coverage by combining the terrain with the official radiation pattern. A single click will select the transmitter to view the coverage for a single site, and a double click goes to a page showing full details. Click on the buttons in the right-hand corner of the map to choose from different frequencies (or multiplexes for DAB).

BBC channels all fine but all others eg ITV channels Channel 4 channels and Chaanel 5 keep having sessions of breaking up pixelation and loss of picture and sound.

Maureen franklin: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in realation to the transmitter and your predicted coverage etc. Do not attempt to retune as this will never fix a problem with signal breakup.

StevensOnln1: cables seem all fine and actually getting the same on other TVs in the house with indoor aerials and a box as these are very old TVs. Think that rules out it being my TV aerial. My Post code is PO38 1LZ house number 150b. Too late with the retune advice as did that last night after posting my comment and all non BBC channels are there and with new channel numbers. Eg ITV is now 800. On the programme guide my channels are now listed with all the BBC channels followed by the other channels in numerical order. I am on a relay station so get a limited number of channels anyway. Thanks Maureen xx

Maureen franklin: What signal strength and quality readings do you get on ITV?

StevensOnln1: I was getting good signal and picture for all channels available to me but on Monday evening the nonBBC channels all started pixelating and breaking up with loss of sound and picture then would come back ok and then loss again a bit later- strangely seemed to be towards a commercial break or programme end but could have been a coincidence. Have just done another retune and all programmes are now back in the correct order with ITV as channel 3 and not as 800

Paul Morris: Ventnor only covers around 3,000 homes, so chances are probably never.
