Ofcom - Change Request: Cardiff Newport. Request to extend coverage area and change frequency of Cardiff Newport lo

These statutory provisions require Ofcom to consult on any such requests before it makes a decision, and so a public consultation was held between 21 June and 19 July. Ofcom has published a general policy for exercising our section 54A powers. Where a request for a licence variation requires a change to the existing frequency, Ofcom's general policy is to approve such requests subject to the availability of a suitable alternative frequency and consideration of the knock-on implications to the frequencies of other multiplexes and the stations they carry. - stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk

Review: Pinell Go portable DAB+/FM radio

It's possibly, the first radio I've seen which highlights the company's design credentials throughout - taking cues from the master of industrial design, Apple, while adding a Norwegian twist. The packaging - a forgotten part of the consumer experience by almost every company - is beautifully produced two sides of the box contain hand-drawn images that reflect Norwegian country life I can identify pine cones, mushrooms, a traditional Norwegian wooden house, an axe, a warm jacket, a wellington boot. It has an AUX input, and a headphone output. - mediauk.com

TV Foresees Its Future. Netflix Is There. - NYTimes.com

Apple and Google were back making waves in the television world last week, with reports suggesting they were renewing efforts to use technology to transform the box in your living room. Its worth remembering that it managed to go from the largest user of the Postal Service to the largest source of download traffic on the Web in the span of months, not years. After a big stumble on pricing in 2011, Netflix recovered and then some, using its expertise in technology and algorithms to accrue over 36 million users worldwide, a number that will probably grow when it announces its earnings on Monday. - nytimes.com
