Chris Pollard: I have been fiddling with the settings and found that if I edit the stations so the PCR's are changed from say 1302 to 1300 or 1301 the stuttering stops. I've no idea what is going on but could it be something to do with the new HD settings?

Hi, I recently changed my tv from a Panasonic plasma to a Panasonic LED tv. I live a couple of miles away from a small airfield and now find that when a light plane or helicopter flies close by my tv picture breaks up and freezes for between five and twenty seconds, I also bought a new panasonic PVR with the tv and the same happens on this although it does not seem quite so badly affected. The old plasma TV never had this issue.
Any Idea why this is happening and how I can remedy it?

Have had constant and on-going BBC freeview reception problems. Have had engineers over to check 4G interference. Have tuned and re-tuned set hundreds of times but the breaking up and shrieking sound continue. Have two masts fairly close by, and am told that the signal from one could be interfering with that of the other! (Huntshaw Cross and Carrefon Hill). Have booster, which has two aerial connectors-have switched over several times. Have been sent a new booster, but since it is ONLY BBC channels which are affected, am pretty sure both booster and aerial are ok.CAN SOMEONE, PLEASE ADVISE. Have re-tuned with and without aerial in- same old, same old. Reception worse at weekends and hot weather appears to make it worse. BUT WHO KNOWS? Was at sameaddress for approx three years, with no trouble at all.

Susan Hall:

Were the engineers that you had aerial installers or were they from at800 and ONLY checked interference?
Did they measure the signal strength at your aerial socket?
You mentioned a booster, does it have a variable gain control, there's the possibility you may have too much signal which overloads the receiver and can cause picture/sound breakup.
We can only advise on the options and possibilities with a full postcode to see what the Freeview Detailed Coverage Checker gives for your predicted reception at your location especially as you may have this choice between Caradon Hill and Huntshaw Cross.
(Note, there has been some Troposheric Ducting around the last few days in some parts of the UK which can affect reception by causing interference from different transmitters in the UK or Europe.)
