BBC move Lincoln transmitter into Lincolnshire

The Lincoln Central transmitter was previously in the "Waltham" East Midlands region for BBC news.

For historical reasons the Lincoln Town transmitter was part of the ITV Belmont region, but for some reason the BBC East Midlands.

The BBC has had a Lincolnshire region for some decades now, so it probably makes sense for the county town's transmitter to actually be in the BBC region with its name.

From yesterday, this is now the case.

As the transmitter only covers 840-3,000 homes in the Riverside area of Lincoln, and then with only analogue services, many viewers will probably be using the main Belmont transmitter for the Freeview and already get BBC Lincolnshire.

Des Collier: Strange that, of course, ITV was supposed to get better when it merged into a single company, but if you look at the viewing figures the decline is very obvious.

The BBC has declined a little, but ITV has lost many viewers.

The ways of ITV are utterly inscrutible.
I live in Newark in Nottinghamshire. I work in Nottingham. I shop in Nottingham. I get my local news from BBC Nottingham.
ITV however decided some years ago that this area is part of Yorkshire, so our "local" news on Sky channel 103 emanates from Leeds and is about places I've never heard of.
Even worse, from their point of view, the advertising I get on ITV 1, 2, 3, 4 and Channel 4 from Sky is also Yorkshire based. Why would they think I'd trek 75 miles each way up the A1 to do my shopping? No wonder they're losing their audience!

James Turner: Why blame ITV? It is Sky that provides the regionalization service on 103.

This is done from your postcode, rather than from the transmitter for terrestrial services.

I would contact Sky and ensure that they have the correct address for your card.

Or, switch to Freesat, you can stick in any postcode you like.
