Waltham - retune required Wednesday 13 April 2011
Just a quick reminder that there is a frequency change at Waltham, where from 13 April 2011 until 31st August 2011 at Waltham, Multiplex 2 will operate on C31 at 8kW (from original C23).
If you use this transmitter, you will need to retune.

So what has happened to channel 26? It has disappeared completely from all my free view receivers despite several full re tunes. Everything on the new channel 31 has a very low quality signal and is just about unwatchable.

Just shows how much I use freeview. Give me satellite any day, none of this re tune, re tune and yet again re tune.
Thanks for clearing that up, but why is channel 31 so poor compared to 23?

No I have nothing running anywhere near channel 31, signal quality has increased today but it is still very low.

Ian: That's good to hear. I hope everyone else who was having problems has found the same.

Since retuning our new samsung TV we have lost over half the channels we used to get including ITV3 channel 4 and channel 5. We had a new high gain ariel fitted in readiness too. After much retuning we called in the ariel contracter who tells us he is inundated with calls for the same problem in the area from people tuned into the waltham Station.
His equipment shows that two carriers are totally down.
Digital UK helpline can't help, have no information and tell us there is no-one to complain to.
Is there anything we can do and is there any idea how long this will go on for?

Hi,
I live in NG12 and we can see the transmitter at Waltham. Like everyone else we cannot get the ITV group of programmes. The signal strength seems to be very low. Will this be rectified by the August switchover are are we stuck with this dreadful service for ever? -or until we change to satellite!
