Can I use my ex-contract sky digital satellite receiver to get Freeview channels
You can get the following Freeview channels on with an ex-contract digital satellite receiver (once it is connected). Items marked with a star require either a Freesat from Sky (fSfS) card, or a expired Sky subscription card to view.

vicky: There are three possible explanations.
First is that there is no signal from the dish.
Secondly, your "old sky box" may be damaged.
Third, see What can I do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fault'? | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .

gwyn: No, you can't connect a Freeview TV direct to a dish, but you can continue to use your Sky+ box or you can swap it for a Freesat+HD box. Upgrading from Sky+HD to Freesat+HD | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice for more.

Hi, I have a sky satellite dish aerial but no receiver box (I now use cable via a V+ box). I also have a Panasonic DVD recorder (DMR-EX99EVB) which incorporates freeview which i wish to use to give me more options to record freeview programmes and greater programme storage (V+ allows me two programmes and limited storage). I have no other aerial as the signal is inadequate in my location. Can I connect the dish aerial direct to the recorder via the RF input, or do I need to purchase a Freeview box to send the signal through to the recorder?

Roger Quinton: You need a FreeSAT box, please see All about Freesat | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice .
