You need a "wideband" aerial rather than a high gain one (see all about aerials). Also, if you use a signal booster in the setup, this can cause problems with digital signals.

Can I suggest that you try the following:

1. Check that all the connectors are OK, in particular that there are no stray wires and that both the outer shield and inner wire are connected;

2. If you are using any signal boosters, turn them off;

3. Check to see if you have anything like a VCR connected via a UHF fly lead - sometimes these can changed to use channels such as 68.

4. If you have a wideband aerial, if you can try raising it up an additional metre;

I'm coming again to you, because I do no find a phone number where to call. I told you that I have a weak TV signal and many of the channels have interruptions. I have a Phillips Freeview TV and I tried also with an aerial antena , indoor, but the problem is still there. We did the re-tune but nothing happened.
Could you tell us what to do? We need an outdoor aerial?

Thank you

Tam Dennett: Basically, "no".

If you want more channels and don't want a subscription then your best option is Freesat.

See…esat please.

Tam Dennett: Unless you can receive directly from Darvel then I don't think you'll get all the channels.

John Ogden: The Sutton transmitter in Greater London only carries the main HD channels of: BBC One, BBC Two, BBC Three, CBBC, ITV and Channel 4.

If it's Sutton Coldfield that you're using and the lower powered COM7, which carries BBC News HD, isn't been picked up then try connecting it directly to your aerial (i.e. not via the recorder) and see if you have any joy.

Dave Lindsay: hi dave have done as you suggested and explored all avenues. set is now with engineers to fix, I hope! considering there must be thousands of these made I am surprised fault not common knowledge in trade as toshiba know about it.
