I have a number of TVs in various parts of house. Nothing has been done to change kit or cabling in years. Out of the blue each of the TVs seem to be suffering from poor signal strengh with some TVs pixilating and others getting no picture at all - this on all channels. Signal (from Crystal Palace) is fluctuating between 50 to 65 at TV. Outside aeriel professionally installed looks in good order with no movement to it and no damage. I understand that there is no maintenance work at transmitter . Help - any views on what could be problem please

tom: Is the signal from the aerial distributed via an amplifier? If so, check cables and connections going in/out of the amplifier. Also check that the power supply going in to the amplifier is working and hasn't been inadvertently switched off or unplugged. If all of that looks OK, try disconnecting the incoming aerial cable from the amplifier and connect it directly to one of the TV outlets - if the TV connected to that outlet is working it would indicate that your amplifier is faulty and should be replaced.

Thanks for this - it gives me somewhere to start in tracking down what has gone wrong - big thanks. I suspect there is an amplifier so now I will track it down and do as you say.
