The strength of the analogue signal is no guide to the Freeview signal. If you can get it, you will need a wideband aerial to be able to watch the BBC, ITV and C4 channels.

If you get a digibox and attach it to your existing roof top aerial and get most of the channels, you can then upgrade your aerial to wideband to get the rest.
