What can I do when my Sky Digibox says 'No Signal' or 'Technical fau
How to Reset a Sky Digibox when 'No Signal' appears.
Reset method 1 - Delete and Rescan
- Turn the power off at the mains socket. Either do this by pulling the plug from the socket, or using a power switch if there is one.
- Remove the viewing card from the machine. Using a dry cloth or kitchen roll, clean the gold connector on the reverse of the card. Do not use any cleaning products.
- Check cables and connectors are in good order.
- Wait for at least 30 seconds.
- With the card still out of the machine, plug the Digibox back into the mains.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.
Reset Method 2 - Reset the LNB
If the above method does not work, the LNB may have a fault.- Press the [SERVICES] button and then press [4] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
On Sky HD, press the [SERVICES] button and then press [0] [0] [1] then [SELECT]
Press the buttons in the sequence above exactly - do not atttempt to use [UP] or [DOWN]. Note that when you press the second 0 and 1 nothing happens on the screen until you press the final [SELECT]. This is a "hidden menu". - Then press [1] to go to the RF output menu.
- Press [DOWN] three times to highlight the line 22Khz Command and then press [RIGHT] to change the value to [OFF].
- Press [DOWN] and [SELECT] to select Save New Settings.
- Press [SKY].
- Again press [SERVICES], [4], [0], [1], [SELECT]; then [1] again for the LNB Menu. (SERVICES 0 0 1 SELECT for Sky HD).
- Now press the [RED] button (reset all settings), then [DOWN] until you can select Save New Settings again.
- Press [SKY].
Reset Method 3 - Upgrade the system software
If there are still problems:- Turn the Digibox off at the mains again and remove the viewing card.
- Whilst holding down the BACKUP key on the Digibox - NOT ON THE REMOTE - turn the mains power on.
- Keep hold of BACKUP until the screen displays a "UPGRADING SYSTEM SOFTWARE" message ââ¬â this will be white text on a black screen. On some boxes this can appear as a half screen.
- Wait 10 to 20 minutes for the software to download and install. The box will restart when the process is complete.
- Ignore all the messages, and wait for around a minute.
- Try 101 for BBC One, 102 for BBC Two and 103 for ITV-1.
- Insert viewing card, wait a few seconds.
- Check 104 for Channel 4 and 105 for five.

my tv says no signal often when its windy and takes ages to come back on, my daughter on the other hand, has no trouble getting the signal back and does exactly the same procedure as me, I press HELP and TV. Today I found a new way of getting the signal back. I turned the tv off with the sky control, turned it back on then pressed HELP, it came back on immediately and when it happened again I did the same thing and it came back on again. Perhaps I've found the Holy Grail

i have a sky+ box and want to stop subscribing to them and get a freesat+ box will i have to upgrade my lnb

Joseph: Frequencies used in France are the same as used in the UK. However, some frequencies are have better reception than others the futher south you go. ITV1 frequencies are spread over 6 frequencies on 3 satellites, each having different reception. It may mean your dish is not perfectly aligned, or your dish is too small to receive some of the ITV1 regions in your new area (a 60cm dish may have been OK where you used to like, but now you may need a 80cm or 1m dish to receive the same signals!). No amount of resets will help you with this, as its just down to which of the 15+ ITV1 regions you use...

A sky+ box uses two inputs, as does a freesat+ box. You would only need to upgrade your LNB if you want to have satellite tv in another location

Sir,
just over a week ago we lost all our channels on our Sky + box,and the message "no satellite signal being received".We had an old basic Sky box and also a free-sat box, which we tried, but to no avail.I have followed, to the letter, all three method that you have listed, but still get the same message "no signal being received".Would this indicate that our LMB has somehow developed a fault? If this is the case,is it easy enough for me to fit a new LMB myself?,as I am not in a position to pay some-one to do it for me.

Jim: apart from checking all the cables from the LNB to the receiver and making sure they are not split and tightly connected, then it can be either LNB or dish alignment.

Chrissy: Sounds like you are getting no signal from the dish, as the update screen stays on for a while if it cannot find a signal. So, as above, check all the cables and connections, otherwise check the LNB and / or dish alignment. YOu could also try a friends box on your system to eliminate the problem of your box or your system. Phone line has no connection with the ability to receive channels. Its just there for you to vote on reality TV and buy things like from QVC or Box office movies.

I have recently upgraded to Sky HD in the living room. As such, I have moved the plus box upstairs in place of the standard one.
Therein lies my problem...
I have called sky to update the standard card to match it to the plus box but it will only work intermittently. Working morning but not night and vice versa with no discernable pattern.
I have called again and repeated the card update but still nothing.
When it doesnt work, the "no signal received, wait 5min" message shows but in the system menu it shows about 80% signal strength so i'm guessing its not hardware related.
Any thoughts or advice much appreciated,
Ben.
