Can I use my ex-contract sky digital satellite receiver to get Freeview channels
You can get the following Freeview channels on with an ex-contract digital satellite receiver (once it is connected). Items marked with a star require either a Freesat from Sky (fSfS) card, or a expired Sky subscription card to view.

nass: They might do, but it might cost them more to take it down than to leave it.

Forgive me if this has already been adressed but I haven't found anything as I have read through these posts - I have an iMac with an Elgato Diversity which is able to receive DVB-T via usb to the Mac and coaxle to the rooftop aerial. I'm in an area that has limited coverage until digital switchover in 2012. However, having just moved in to the house there are cables and a Sky dish installed (no box obviously) My question is, Can I use the cables to receive a signal from the dish using the Elgato USB tuner as my freeview box? I'm guessing I may need som form of adaptor for the Sky dish cable to connect it to the Elgato?
Hope you can help.

Hadge: If you want to use satellite, you will need a suitable DVB-S (or DVB-S2) receiver.
You can't attach a DVB-T ("Terrestrial") device to a dish.

Alex: The card provides access only to three channels: Sky3, Fiver and Five USA.
Otherwise the box will work will show all the other free channels with or without a card.
The £25 card will provide no more channels or service than an expired subscription card.
