Well then, at least one Freesat STB is not working properly.
Is there anyone else in STV North with a Grundig GUFSAT02SD box who can confirm that it does not receive STV+1 as a Freesat channel, or is it just my box which is faulty?

John Green: You could try re-running the set-up with a postcode in the STV West region, such as G51 1DA.

hi. I have just bought a second hand sky+ hd box. I do have a white aerial and brown aerial coming through the wall but Neither have screw or push in adaptors on them :( there is also a sky dish outside and landlord says property has sky but not subscription? The hd box has a viewing card. . . . I don't want to subscribe just watcg the free channels. . . Is this possible without a phone connection ? Sorry for sounding thick :(

chloe: The phone connection is not required, unless you want to use the "box office" service.
I would use a visual check to see where the cables from the dish go.
I'm not sure if you mean you have a shared satellite system of some kind.
Satellite cables do not usually have connectors on the end.

thank you Mr ;-) so how do i Get the cables to fit into the sky box? They are basically cables with the copper wire sticking out. . . The sky box has screw bits on it ? Also says dish input one and dish input two where I'm guessing the cables will go. . . My house is at a football ground and I'm the only tenant. . I think the previous tenant had sky but how did they connect the cables to their box! There is a sky dish here and apparently it was up and running few months ago. . .

chloe: You need a couple of the little screw "F-connector" bits that go on the end. You can get these from places like Maplins - see
TwistOn F Plugs : Aerial Connectors : Maplin

ok thank you ;-) there is a aerial socket in the wall i have just discovered? Has this any significance? Which cable goes where in the sky box?

chloe: An aerial socket doesn't do anything to get you any channels. You need the satellite link or links.
The aerial would work with a Freeview box in most places.
