John: The signals will be 50kW on the multiplex from Wednesday 31st August 2011, rather than the current 8kW.

I have the same problem, we used to have 3, 4 and 5 from Waltham, as of last wed they disspaeared, nothing to do with local rf interference as my old man has had the same problem and doesnt have anything else attached to his tv. tried a retune but nothing on c31 for us looks like the move to c31 has scoobied the signal. will give it a go with just the tv connected in our setup but think it will be futile. hopefully they will come back in august. Im ok as we have sky in the lounge but the rest of the tvs have lost 3,4 and five plus the rest on that MX.

Ian: Not really, you should be getting the C31 signal, either you can do something to unblock the signal locally, as per Single frequency interference | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice or you can wait. No-one else other than you is responsible for the reception part of the system.

Things may improve slightly after tonight, when Bromsgrove stops transmitting BBC One analogue at 2.8 kW on C31 (although it does so on vertical polarization rather than horizontal). The Wrekin and Lark Stoke will continue to use C31 until after Waltham switches, The Wrekin at its current power level of 2 kW (horizontal, same as Waltham) and Lark Stoke doubling from 25W to 50W (vertical).

Ian: What do you propose to do otherwise? Arqiva are not going to "put it back on the old channel" are they?

Ian: You're really at LE10 0NS? Digital UK's predictor says you haven't a hope in hell of getting successful results from Waltham, at any time, past, present, or in the future.

Your only option is Sutton Coldfield - which should give excellent results.

Oh really, then why have I been watching Waltham both analogue and digital for years then? Apart from a glitch for 1 day during the last re tune I still get a digital signal of 92-98% quality. The predictors are about as much use as an ashtray on a motor bike.

My gripe is that some people that were getting digital are now expected to go without for the next 4 months or so.

No I don't expect them to switch back the frequency's but I do expect them not to swap them onto one that is already used by a neighbouring transmitter, that is just stupid.
