Coming this week - BBC one live online and BBC TWO live online (UK only).

The BBC's Jana Bennett said "The launch of BBC One and BBC Two online completes our commitment to make our portfolio of channels available to watch on the internet.

"From 27 November licence fee payers will be able to watch BBC programmes, live, wherever they are in the UK on their computers, mobile phones and other portable devices.

"Through iPlayer and series stacking, they'll have the option to catch up with them later."

Simon Nelson adds "Simulcasting BBC One and BBC Two is a huge advance in making our portfolio of multiplatform channels available to our audiences, and giving them the opportunity to discover the wealth of associated content the BBC is able to offer through our channel and programme sites."

Netcitizen: BBC Worldwide's international iPlayer access will start soon, but probably not for live streaming.

Is it at all possible to receive UK radio stations ON A RADIO in Central Spain? Why could I listen to Radio Luxembourg in the UK 50 years ago and can't get UK radio here NOW?

ken brown: On an Internet Radio, you certainly can, but FM signals won't reach Spain from the UK.

I can see Winterhill on a clear day but cant
receive channel 12 or 15 and presumably others
in this group. Can anyone say why its only transmitting at 12500 watts when others are at
100,000?

Channel 12 & 15 (alone with 18, 21, whatever number ITV 4 is on & numerous others on ARQB) are transmitted at 12.5 kW on UHF channel 55 to avoid co-channel interference with MUD D (also ARQB)from Sutton Coldfield - which is also transmitted on the same UHF channel. After DSO Sutton Coldfield wont use UHF channel 55 so the 12.5kW power on ARQB from Winter Hill can be switched up to 100kW. This will happen after the 21st September 2011.

If they can't see what you are doing on your computer, it is easy to watch live TV on your computer without a licence, (I know its illegal), but what the BBC don't know won't hurt them.

Briantist: But what if I'm either using a proxy or there happens to be a public Wi-Fi hotspot near my house? The BBC are hardly going to waste their already limited resources on tracking down someone from a public connection where potentially thousands of people use the connection whether they have got a TV licence ot not. And I do have a TV licence actually, but I'm just speaking hypothetically....

Josh: Of course, it's not the BBC that does it. The Licence Fee is collected by a separate agency, who have subcontracted collections to a private company, Capita.

BBC TV Licensing

.

So, yes, they *do* have the resources ("detection" is part of the £93.8m "collection
costs") to "track people down", and they are contractually obliged to do so. - TV Licensing - FOI: About TV Licensing .
