How can I get Channel 5 on Sky in Ireland?
You can watch Channel 5 (plus 5USA, 5* and the +1s) by manually adding the channel, as it is broadcast free-to-air.
Use the following settings:
Frequency: 10773 10964
Polarisation: Horizontal
Symbol rate (Mbaud): 22.0
FEC: 5/6

Hi i've been told by sky that Channel 5* is available to view it just has to be tuned in. I already have 5 but want 5* for the likes of BBBOTS which will be shown on 5*. Anybody know how to tune it in please?

Trish: Sorry, 5* and 5USA are encrypted on satellite. The programme you want to watch is on Channel 5 anyway - Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side | Channel 5 .

jillian tullis: You can't get it on satellite , so you can't watch it - unless you can receive it from a terrestrial transmitter.

jillian tullis: TV3 *is* on satellite, but it's encrypted - you need a Sky Ireland subscription to decode. However, the Republic's public-service channels then appear at 101-105, with UTV not in the programme guide at all (it is free-to-air, so you could add it back with the Other Channels feature).
Check Coverage Map | SAORVIEW to see if you could receive TV3 from a terrestrial transmitter. If you want to receive channels from the Republic, it's recommended that you get a Freeview HD box as they are going over to HD-only transmission much more quickly than we are.
