You can get the following Freeview channels on with an ex-contract digital satellite receiver (once it is connected). Items marked with a star require either a Freesat from Sky (fSfS) card, or a expired Sky subscription card to view.

sarah cowan: Judging by the fact that the signal comes from the east it probably requires careful siting of any indoor aerial simply because the road runs east to west. Therefore in most properties the other houses will be in the way.

If you have a rooftop aerial then you should try that. It is likely that it will be suitable for receiving all Freeview channels.

sarah cowan: Connect the Sky box to the TV with a scart lead.

Feed the aerial directly into the TV. There is no need to feed it into the Sky box as this isn't required for this setup. The terrestrial aerial socket in and those out should be left unconnected.

I have at the moment sky tv, broadband and telephone,
I live in the north of England and am receiving signal from Winter-Hill.
which is very bad so have no alternative to getting tv from Sky or other internet provider.
Also my computer is only getting under 1bites from sky provider.
I wish to reduce my costs on the package.
Anyhelp on this please. Freeview is not the option - picture breaks up.
Would a larger aerial help.

What are the two posts above this one. It sounds like a marriage guidance class, not about TV? Or is it the usual scam rubbish, you write to them, they ask you for money and it ends up in some bank account in Nigeria

Michael: I have exterminated those comments. Strange that Askami didn't spot them. But thank you for doing so.

Briantist:

Hi, Brian
Maby U can help me :) I lives in Council Block fitted with Communal Satellite dish & main Switch Room ( Vision ). Problem is then I would like to enjoy my national Sat provider - Polsat - and to get it I need to mount separate satellite dish to rich signal from Hotbird 13 degree. I got permission from landlord to do that ) Satellite System installed om the roof is set for Astra 2D with quatro LNB ( 4 cables - black, green , yellow and red ) with single dish to provide Sky Tv for 16 flats. There is no free cables on the roof ( just on big one 5 wires ) So my idea is like that : I will mount small zone 2 satellite dish next to communal one and using 2 way splitter will connect my dish with black cable from communal one >
There is 2 satellite connectors ( sat1 + sat2 in my socket + DAB + TV )
So may I please You for advise to correct me ?
Thanks for Your time and all the best for You
Yaro

Hi
I have an Alba TV screen that worked with Sky and Virgin boxes. .. using EXT1 and HDMI . Selecting either thru drop down Menu of AV button on the controller.
Since I tried my Freeview cable , I get the Freeview programs but have lost the AV menu to select the Ext1 and Hdmi.

Could someone advise me how to get back the AV menu to appear again?
thanks
