Can I use my digital freeview box abroad and receive English channals?
No. You cannot receive signals from UK Freeview transmitters abroad. You box will be able to receive local "DVB-T" transmittions, if there are any.
You can use satellite equipment pointing at the Astra 2D satellite from some European countries however to get around 100 UK free-to-air channels.

We have our own place in Italy (The Tuscia bordering Tuscany)and we get freeview and even our local Yorkshire news, you must take your UK Freeview box with you, we purchased a TV in Italy and a metre diameter dish. All is ok exept when a storm comes or there is bad weather inbetween the signal and our dish, but usually crystal clear. However I have been told that soon the Freeview channels will be switching to another Satellite This is set to happen we think in 2014, as channel 5 has done already, maybe we can retune the Dish, we don't know yet.

Arminas:
The first question is whether it is capable of running with a 230 Volt mains input as the US uses 110 Volts and connecting it to a 230 V supply could be dangerous and might cause irreparable damage.
The voltage rating should be on a label on the back or bottom of the TV set. If it does not state it can be used with a 200-240 Volt supply do NOT connect it to your mains supply

Arminas: MikeP is quite right - US voltage is totally different, as is potentially the tuner, etc (NTSC v PAL, etc). There is generally a good reason for people to buy such items 'in country' - its designed for the locale. I do get customers from the USAF, etc, who have shipped TV's over, but generally, the best thing to do is to go local.
You can buy something like this -
Maplin 230V to 110V 300W Voltage Converter | Maplin - but its simply another complication. Its true that buying a Samsung 32in 32F5500 is $399.99 at BestBuy (£243), whereas the best high street price here is £339 at the moment, but if you add shipping costs, no warrenty, the need for a transformer, and a tuner which is not UK standard, its not that great a deal.
However, if you do manage to get it working, then yes, a UK freeview box, etc should simply attach via RCA phono/HDMI.

I have brought home a Goodmans GFSAT101SD Freesat Digital Set Top Box to Malaysia. Plugged into the Malaysian ASTRO (KU band) satellite dish aligned to MEASAT satellites, tuned to bypass UK postcodes and i cant receive any Free-To-Air signal in Malaysia.
Is this GFSAT101SD set-top box made to receive FTA channels from other satellites in Southeast Asia region please ?
I do know that Southeast Asia is out of reach from all European FTA satellites.

We have enjoyed UK Freeview channels in the Algarve, Portugal. Earlier in the year the load on the Astra satellites was redistributed and now we cannot get any UK radio and few UK channels. I was told that if I purchased a Sky card for the Sky machine slot which I use as the freeview messenger that I would again get Freeview. Is this correct please? Regards,

sue purves: a sky card won't make the slightest bit of difference.
If you have reset your sky box already then the most likely answer is to get a larger satellite dish.
From what I recall - I used to live in Cascaise - three are plenty of local installer companies who can help.

Ramesh - The Goodmans receiver you've taken out to Malaysia was solely designed to receive and work with "Freesat" here in the UK ( with the exception of some fringe European coverage) and will not give any output in your area. You might have had some success with an FTA generic Satellite receiver dependent on the output format from MEASAT and the receivers build features.
