The problem could be one of:

- the aerial has been moved or damaged;

- the cables or connectors that connect the digibox to the aerial are damaged;

- the digibox has broken.

If you have a "spare" digibox you use this to test the aerial connection. Can you still watch analogue TV OK?

Helen:

As other users within the same block and using the same communal aerial system are having the same problem, that confirms that there is a fault with the serial system. You all need to contact your owner/managing agency as they are responsible for having the fault corrected. It will not cost you or others affected anything as this is covered by the maintenance fees you already pay.

Sorry for the typo, meant to say the fault is with the aerial system. Note that your equipment will not be the cause and you should not try retuning anything until the aerial system fault has been corrected.

I am receiving intermittent signals (sometimes poor signal quality and other times no signal) on BBB1, BBB2, ITV1`, some Freeview channels appear ok. Any ideas what the problem could be please?

We need some idea of where you live so we can determine if there is a transmitter problem (there's over 1000of them serving the UK). This is best done by providing a full postcode of where you live or that of a nearby public building (a shop, post office, etc). Then we contributors may be able to suggest what course of action might help.

There are reports from much of southern England of such reception problems and it likely to be due to the weather conditions. There is nothing anyone can do to change the situation, a change in weather will do that anyway. Do NOT retune your TV set under these circumstances.

Lost all freeview channels my flat at a property in BH1 1PW. All other residents report the same from yesterday (12/11). When retuning, only managed to retrieve 37 channels, but the signal is either absent, or I just get a blocky picture. Landlord's maintenance people say they can't see any problem, and that other properties have reported the same. Find this hard to believe.

hi, came home yesterday and all TV channels have gone. Got internet channels only. Checked all cables and connections. No scheduled engineering works. Aerial seems ok?

Ian:

In that case there are two possibilities: either the communal aerial system does have a fault (a clue being that others on the same system also have the same problem) or else the recept atmospherics have been the cause of the reception problems. Retuning during such events will inevitably result in loss of some channels. Now that the worst of the temperature inversion has apparently passed, try a retune now and let us know if you get you channels back.
