This transmitter has no current reported problems
The BBC and Digital UK report there are no faults or engineering work on the Penicuik (Midlothian, Scotland) transmitter.UK Free TV shows the coverage area for a radio transmitter as a coloured overlay (orange for FM, other colours for DAB) on the grey map. Why can't I get Radio Scotland in DAB from the Penicuik transmitter? Seem to get all other UK national stations but no BBC Radio Scotland - that does not seem correct, does it?

Iain Macnaughton: BBC Radio Scotland is broadcast on the Edinburgh local multiplex from the Penicuik transmitter, along with commercial stations such as Forth 1, Forth 2, Capital, Heart, Smooth, etc. Are you able to receive these stations?

George Burke: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? There was a frequency change on 3rd October, did you retune after that? If you did and all of your channels were working since then you should not retune again.

Further to my comments about lack of Radio Scotland on DAB, driving from Penicuik to Peebles, Radio Scotland coverage is very poor and does not exist maybe 4 miles North of Peebles. National Radio stations are okay but not Radio Scotland, in this area of the UK, National Radio by its description should include BBC Radio Scotland - coverage further South from Peebles is also none existent - this does not seem correct for the main public broadcaster in this area, does it.

Iain Macnaughton:
I think you will find that the definition of a National service means the whole of the UK, so includes England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. As BBC Radio Scotland has a target audience in Scotland only it is not a National service.
