Dianna Green: Hi, Dianna. Thank you so much for posting the link to that Ofcom report on technical issues at three of our local tv stations; it made ver interesting reading for me! Richard, Norwich.

Briantist: Hi, Brian. I thought I would let you know that another tranche of BBC Local Radio stations on Freeview goes live this coming Tuesday, 21st June, following those added this Tuesday just gone, Tuesday 14th. June. They seem to have got into the routine of a batch per week! I'm assuming they'll have "done 'em all" by the end of the month" Here's the link once again:-

BBC - Launching BBC Local Radio stations onto Freeview - Help Receiving TV and Radio

I'd been inclined to hang on until they've finished before you do further updates, unless you have plenty of time on your hands! Richard, Norwich.

Salisbury (Wiltshire, England) Full Freeview transmitter

Roger: Hi, Roger. I am glad all is OK with your Freesat setup. As far as Freeview is concerned, several correspondents using the Salisbury transmitter have commented upon reception problems since Tuesday 14th. June. Yesterday, in particular, correspondents were commenting about loss of HD channels. At least one of the complainants is contacting the broadcaster of the channel he is unable to watch, having tried different set-top boxes and televisions! So it's probably not your new tv that's at fault after all. I'd give the broadcaster a few days to try to sort thigs out before taking things any further with Samsung. Richard, Norwich.

Steve Gale: Hi Steve. Sorry to interrupt, because I realise you had directed your comment specifically to Briantist, but having read your comment, I felt like responding, if you have no objection! I think you are very fortunate to be able to receive BBC Somerset on FM from Mendip that far 'out of county'! The shorter wavelength UHF tv signals reach Blandford, but can't make Poole. Interestingly, there have been several correspondents this week, commenting on their inability to pick up the Bournemouth local DAB multiplex, not many miles North West of Bornemouth - slightly off topic i know, with distances and modes of reception reversed from your comment! Hope you didn't mind my interjecting! The Norfolk anorak, Richard, Norwich.

Steve Gale: Hi again Steve. I think I misunderstood your last posting slightly! Did you actually mean that you couldn't get coloured coverage shading to emerge around the tx site map-pin, when clicking on it? If you did mean that, I can't either! Indeed, we ought to make Brian aware! The same is true for me with Aldeburgh FM in Suffolk. I have tried it with Firefox 47.0 ( latest version which came out this week and I have also tried with Microsoft Edge, following this week's Windows 10 update!) Richard, Norwich

Good Morning. I am probably even more interested in the transmission of radio broadcasting even more than tv broadcasting. Fortunately Brian's UKFREE.TV website contains lots and lots of information on the different modes of radio transmission, including, of course, DAB digital radio. I'm becoming increasingly interested un when the Government will announce a date for radio switchover to digital. At the present time, I think that it will make an announcement sometime next year, although I'll probably need to update my opinion then! Richard, Norwich.

KMJ,Derby: Hi KMJ, Derby. I believe that you meant 'predictive text' in your last post, rather than 'predicative', which has a different meaning, concerned with grammar: "A predicative expression (or just predicative) is (part of) a clause predicate." Damned predictive text! I never use it: indeed I have it disabled! Richard, Norwich.

KMJ,Derby: Your wish could be my command:
If only!!! BBC East Yorks and Lincs:-
BBC One - Look North (East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire) -
Sadly no 'live stream' but iPlayer is available, see further below.
itv YORKSHIRE: calendar South Yorkshire:

South Yorkshire | Calendar - ITV News

Sadly again, no live feed to that sub-region's news.
I have found that live online viewing of itv doesn't give anything other than itv london news, and when I got in touch with itv, they said that there were no plans to add other itv regions on to itv online, however that they would gradually be putting more itv news regions on to Freeview HD.
Here's one route to itv live stream:-

ITV Live Stream - TV Guide UK TV Listings

For live viewing, the following link should work for yesterday's BBC Look North, (East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire):-

BBC iPlayer - Look North (East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire)

I hope that I have not made any typographical errors in this posting! Richard, Norwich PS You should be able to find an online feed for BBC Look North somewhere, but I can't locate it at the moment, and cannot guarantee whether they sub-regionalise it and make E.Yorks and Lincs available live, but I suspect not. I can get Look East (East) live online, but not ITV Anglia (see further above) On HD Freeview, I have to put up with ITV Meridian East, but have little interest in what's happening in Dover, if truth be told! Richard, Norwich.

KMJ,Derby: Hi again KMJ, Derby. I've found a link to BBC One Leeds:-

BBC One Yorkshire - Schedules, Monday 20 June 2016

but there doesn't seem to be a similar link for east yorkshire & lincolnshire. Maybe you can find one?

Richard, Norwich.
