BBC Radio Norfolk is available on Freeview channel 719, although a retune of your reception equipment may be required before you pick it up for the first time!

Hi Brian,
Thought I'd let you know, I'm not getting a coverage map appearing on your Aldeburgh analogue radio page, I wanted to see predicted coverage map for 95.9 fm, bbc radio suffolk. I anticipate it would reach as far north as about Wangford or Wrentham. Am I right? I am able to see coverage maps for all of the other transmitters I've tried, so it isn't a 'flash' issue at my end!

Hi Brian, do you think the Wells DAB transmitter would cover Holt, even though when you type Holt postcodes into uk digitalradio website it says DAB not available?

All five public service channels now free to air!

Due to very poor reception of Neighbours on C5 SD from Tacolneston this afternoon, I searched online to find out whether C5 was available in HD on Freeview: it had not been previously. I didn't realise it had been available since last Wednesday. Did a retune on my set top box and there it was on 105. Unfortunately, I had lost ITV Anglia SD and didn't want to watch ITV Meridian News in HD, so I re-tuned again and got ITVAnglia SD back again, albeit with very bad CCI due to the fine weather atmospheric conditions. Now I see that Briantist has put a headline banner on this website stating that all 5 main free-to-air channels are available in HD on the Freeview DTT platform.

Les Platons (Channel Islands) DAB transmitter

A Le Blac:

I am currently researching whether there are any developments for DAB to cover Alderney or Guernsey. As you probably know, the BBC have arranged BBC National DAB on 12B for Guernsey from the Les Touillets transmitter, although I think Briantist has still to add it to this ukfree.tv website. There were plans, ten years ago for the CI to have local DAB, but there needs to be sufficient commercial interest in running local DAB multiplexes, which I suspect there isn't at the moment! The BBC will continue local services on analogue FM, I gather. If I learn anything more, I'll make another posting on here!

Nat: Whenever you find that you cannot get Radio 4 on FM, you can try alternatives. At present, one alternative is Radio 4 LW at a frequency of 198 kHz. It comes from Droitwich, whereas your Radio 4 FM comes from Sutton Coldfield. Another alternative is Radio 4 online. Simply type BBC Radio 4 into your search engine, ( many people tend to use 'Google') and then click on the 'Listen live' option. Radio 4 is also on Freeview TV, channel number 704. I hope you find these alternatives useful. I didn't suggest 'DAB' because you need a DAB radio and the signal would mainly come from Sutton Coldfield, so if Sutton Coldfield transmitter is having problems you are better not using it at all until the problems are resolved. Pete Barnby: Hi Pete Barnby. This is Richard, just south-west of Norwich city centre, writing at 10:02 on Thursday 2nd June 2016. I am achieving 99% signal level and 99% quality on mux PSB1 (BBCA). My barometer tells me that the atmospheric pressure is currently 1020 millibars, which is high, and this could be causing you issues if you are in Barnby. I must say that I tend to experience issues on mux PSB2 (D3+4), which contains ITVAnglia and Channel 5, as well as mux LNR(LOCM) which contains Mustard TV, although this does transmit at 1/10 of the power of most of the other muxes. When atmospheric pressure is high, the only thing you can do is to wait until it lowers, assuming you have checked all of the obvious things like aerial lead connections, condition, fixings and alignment of your aerial, etc. Incidentally, it would be interesting to hear the specs of the aerial you are using, as well as the length and type of aerial (coax) cable. Perhaps you will make another posting to ukfreetv, Pete Barnby. all the Best, Richard, Norwich.
