Gill Wolstenholme :
Sandy Heath is working fine at the moment in St Neots.
They have been dong some engineering work but they do not do that sort of work for week but usually hours! If other residents are experiencing problems I'd suspect the distribution system they have in the building. Do you live locally and have problems with reception?

Why is Sandy Heath showing BBC London News? There is obviously a switching fault!
This morning (Tue 14th Feb) it showed London News during the Breakfast breaks.
After News at Ten it is doing the same. I can only presume it was the same at 18:30.

I thought I would just place this comment here as there is a faulty link on the site and I cannot find anywhere to report it to the Webmaster/Administrator. I arrived in Guernsey at the Gorey transmitter map by clicking on the Gorey transmitter for Saorview in Ireland. Faulty link!

Paxton Hill is in Cambridgeshire not Hertfordshire.
Now that the transmitter is on top of the hill instead of the old Paines Brewery Mill in the town its transmission area has improved significantly. I listened to the station today all the way from Yaxley near Peterborough all the way home to St Neots. The signal was also okay in the shadow of Alconbury hill to the south of Sawtry.

Dylan green: This is obviously not related to Sandy Heath but I used to have a 1 metre dish and lost the signal a few times when huge black clouds were overhead.
Water droplets, especially in clouds hundred, probably thousands of feet thick can completely block satellite signals. If you are confident working at the height of your dish you can check whether the cable connection is well protected from moisture. Also slacken the bolts and make tiny adjustments to the dish position to see if you can improve the signal. Hopefully your receiver has some kind of strength and quality meter display. Failing all that a new LNB may be required as they do get damaged by the Sun especially around the time of the equinoxes. The spring equinox is in a few weeks time!
