Thanks for your further info.
I am happy now I know what is going on with my system.
When the tv switches to Freesat I push TV on the remote and I am back to tv.

It is unusual for this to happen on ukfree but what is even more unusual is that these emails contain wrong info.
I believe the North East switchover starts in September and not as shown ie " North East England - switchover completes on Wednesday 27th June 2012:

I note the Red Button mentioned in the article and would like to ask if it is possible to record it.
I record Dragons Den but then have to miss the Red Button extra that follows.

Oh dear I am confused
I had to do a retune today on Freeview to get the new Drama channel and noticed the BTSport channels being installed.
I have been watching the channel that is broadcasting and noted that ways to get it did not include Freeview.
They said anyone who is not a BT customer can get the Sports channels for £12 a month
So will Freeview watchers be able to get them

jb38 - thanks.
The freesat box is in standby and there is noise from it when tv switches to it.
Its was not a problem really but as I had'nt heard of the auto swithch sensor before I was just making sure.
My freeview recorder is connected to HDMI2.
