Thank you very much for the feedback. The aerial in use has been in the loft for at least 10 years, so maybe a new purchase for a wideband aerial is needed.
Interested in what you said about contacting Freeview advice line as I don't have satellite or cable, just Freeview.
Will let you know how things progress, especially in the light others are complaining about the same problem.

Just to update.
Got an aerial guy from Aerial Express to come round and replace my aerial. Don't know the make or model, but the problem has gone, and I'm getting a signal strength of 10 where as before it was just one.
So sorted.

North bristol. Bs34. UHF33 is now a very poor signal. Any idea why ?
