You can see on the petition page the discussions I've had with bauer about this and they offered no hope.

Richard Cooper: Hi Richard, I tried Ofcom several times from different angles. They have no interest in the fact we've lost Planet Rock altogether, despite the thousands of comments from upset / angry people on the petition. The problem appears to be that they decided to do this to pave the way for lots of popup pop stations to broadcast cheaply, and also increase the talk stations (for some reason).
However, as far as I'm aware, there is nothing stopping Bauer from putting Planet Rock and Absolute80s back on the D1 transmitters. Well, obviously they'd have to pay someone else for the privilege rather than use the transmitters that they part own, so clearly it's not going to happen.

Richard Cooper: HI Richard, my car DAB is tuned to 11A and it doesn't pick up Planet Rock until I'm about an hour away from home (I'm in East Anglia).

Richard Cooper: Hi Richard, I was sincerely hoping that the petition would do that:-( I have spoken to quite a few people at the head of Bauer and not really received the truth about why they did it. I've written to Paul Keenan again only this morning. They have not, in the 3/4 months since the campaign started, offered any grain of hope whatsoever. I've tried (again multiple times) the Culture Dept and their ministers, the ASA (regarding the fact we were hearing 'there's never been a better time to buy digital radio' ads on the station they knew we were losing), various rock-loving MPs, all the press in each affected area, the national press, various consumer programmes, etc. I've been relentless with it and I'm knackered! It's very hard to get anyone high-profile or official to help at all.

I wish it was just as simple as getting a cheap aerial for me:-( Am hoping they'll eventaully add D2 to Mendlesham because listening online is a complete faff and I've gone from 10 hrs a day, every day, to hardly bothering. I had to upgrade my broadband to get it and am certainly not spending any more money when I already did on DAB. I'm still desperately hoping Bauer will suddently see sense and bring it back to us!
On the other side ... I'm listening a lot more to my own music collection, much of which had been forgotten!
