Below are all of Mike Davison's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.I'm glad someone mentioned the property of the Humax Freeview HD-PVR giving the option to use the HD channel when an HD programme appears on the SD channel and also the option to use the HD source to record if worthwhile but it only seems to work with BBC1 and 2 and not on ITV1 and C4. Also the Humax seems to compensate for the reduced audio level that my HD-TV(and Pace HD satellite rx) seem to suffer from in 'native' mode on the HD channels.

David: No problem in LS22 Emley Moor fine on all channels. According to this website's maps I am not in a 'green' area for Emley Moor but have never had any reception problems even before DSO.

Just for info', the DigitalUK website says COM7 from Emley Moor will be 50kW not 16.7kW as stated above and suggests 10/12/2013 is a re-tune date so that may be the date it comes on test.

CBBC/BBC3, CBEEBIES/BBC4 and BBCNEWS HD alternatives all appear to be in full service from satellite from around 11:30am yesterday 4/12/2013 but only running under numbered labels.

BBC News HD doesn't look upscaled to me.

If you can operate your Freesat receiver in the 'non-Freesat' mode you could get them now using the info' from the Lyngsat screenshot above. I'm not sure when the numbered labels will change, probably not until inserted in the Freesat EPG. Only do this if you're really impatient about getting them.

Rog Parsons - there's no such thing as a free licence. What else is a Sky subscription? Every channel would become subscription based. I guarantee that the penny would drop that the quality of programmes would become intolerable hopefully leading to the failure of the subscription services and people would clamour for 'the good old days' of the licence fee supported broadcasting service.

Briantist - I like your figures. It completely demolishes all arguments against the BBC structure and shows how easily duped the British public can be, thinking that we pay highly for the general content of service. All Sky's money seems to go into paying semi-literate soccer players - how non-general is that? If Sky didn't exist and even half of its income was given to licence supported broadcasting the investment in technical and artistic content doesn't bear thinking about. It WOULD be so much better.

You are still showing my area of Wetherby, LS22 6RN as 'no green' and this is clearly an error as I have always had 100%quality signals from any DVB-T(and recently DVB-T2)receivers on my LOFT antenna even before DSO1 and DSO2. I don't think your green area has actually changed since DSO2 took place.
