KMJ: I have checked the aerial cable and its fine, its brand new anyway. Hole in the wall doesnt seem to have any problem visualising by the eyes. I have also checked with a few neighbours, they have no problems. Unfortunately, thats the only TV at home and I have no other freeview box to test with too :(
So it comes down to what you suggested "distribution amplifier has lost power, a circuit breaker might have tripped, or someone has turned off the power to go on holiday without realising that it supplies the TV aerial distribution amp" - how can i check these things?

Alex: Thanks for your sharing. I have had similar situation before my TV complated lost all signals. Even though it indicates that i have 72% signal strength, the pictures were still bumpy and it would also sometimes freeze at the spot with loads of pixelated noises. Using a signal booster doesnt seem to improve either...
What is Grangemouth Road btw?
