Hi - I live in Dorset (Wimborne) and receive from Rowridge. The aerial outside has recently been adjusted but nothing stops interference mainly on BBC channels. I do live in a "leafy" area with tall trees fairly near. Some of my neighbours are worse off than me! Incidentally, I also live right in the centre of the town. Does all this add up to certain trouble? It really is annoying as viewing is interrupted all the time at certain times of day. My aerial fitter has no more solutions!!!

Bring back analogue - all is forgiven!!!

Thanks to you both for suggestions. Vertical aerial has been tried but this had no effect. Also signal strength (which was 100%) has been reduced as too much signal strength was thought to be a possible reason. Sadly we are running out of ideas! I do note that certain times of day are much worse, i.e. lunch times and tea times (5-6 p.m.). Could this mean greater switch on at those times? Or might that not have any bearing on it? It can be mighty irritating if you are following a quiz - the picture obliterates when the answers are given!!

Thanks for your full reply.

My postcode is BH21 - a Bournemouth postcode.

Many in my area who live in residential parts have no problem at all (trees notwithstanding!). I am right in the middle of the town and am surrounded by shops, pubs etc. Busy traffic at times too. I remain curious as to why certain times of day affect my reception. 1.45p.m.is definitely one of them!

Any other suggestions would be terrific - my neighbour is told her boiler is causing trouble with the TV!

Hi all - I live in Dorset and receive from Rowridge. I have put in my postcode (BH21) to identify any problems and apparently there are none reported. However, on looking at the map given on this site, Rowridge is undergoing repairs amd maintenance. It would be nice to know when these repairs will be completed as I had a good picture until about a month ago. My BT Vision service seems to be OK (though this occasionally disappears altogether and the other set in my home (on a different floor) still produces a pretty unwatchable picture at times - usually around lunch time daily). There is an attenuator fitted on my main television and I had a new outside aerial fitted last summer which is showing a good signal.

I live in BH21 1DW postcode and receive Freeview from Rowridge. The map shows maintenance and repair work to be in progress but how long can we expect this to continue as our reception here is, at times, very poor and the picture breaks up repeatedly. Can anyone throw any light on this? I would appreciate it.

Can anyone offer any explanation as to why here in Wimborne (Dorset) reception from Rowridge becomes almost unwatchable at 6 p.m. and at 9 a.m. every day. This has gone on for several months now without let up. We have individual aerials and I have a booster. Reception is lost and a zig-zagging screen lasts for about a minute at a time for at least half an hour at these times of day.

MikeB: Thanks Mike. I have a neighbour who has been told that the boiler might be the culprit. My own water boiler turns OFF at roughly these times! The signal strength is 75% so I guess that's OK.

The boiler by the way is here in the same room as the television.
