Annabelle: viewers shown as being able to receive the COM7 transmissions will still need a receiver which supports DVB-T2/ FreeviewHD, connected to an aerial that covers the frequencies used by COM7 (UHF C31 to C37) and preferably pointing to the appropriate transmitter. As with any tv signals there could be locations where reception is blocked by trees or tall buildings. Viewers receiving via a communal aerial might need to ask their landlord or property management company to adjust the aerial to enable the additional frequencies.

Neville Wake: which mux are you receiving on C42? This is not a frequency used by the main transmitter, but you could be receiving an additional weaker signal from a relay, such as Millburn Muir for example, (if you are located to the Southwest of Glasgow) which has been tuned in erroneously.

Oliver Philp: the status of the Athelstaneford DAB transmitter is currently shown as off air from 09.02 today 30th March 2016. There is no expected time given for resumption of service. Work might be taking place in connection with the addition of a transmitter for local DAB at this site.

David Attwood: further to jb38's advice, a look at streetview shows aerials also pointing to Ridge Hill (same direction as Malvern, but uses horizontal polarisation), The Wrekin and somewhat oddly, Kidderminster. As a consequence there is plenty of scope for receivers to be tuned to a different transmitter to the one that the aerial is pointing to.

Hannington (Hampshire, England) transmitter
Thursday 31 March 2016 7:33PM

David Williams: a couple of things spring to mind that could affect your ability to receive C32 from Hannington. Firstly is interference affecting the required frequency, either from the rf modulator of a vcr or Sky box set on or arround C32, or radiation from a poorly screened HDMI cable? Secondly is the Hannington aerial connected directly to the receiver, or is it combined via a diplexer with a second aerial pointing to Crystal Palace? If the latter, a diplexer made for the UK would probably split the frequencies to be combined at C38. This would result in the group A leg of the diplexer letting through what little, if any, of the C32 signal that is seen by the aerial pointing to Crystal Palace, whilst rejecting any signal below C39 on the feed from the Hannington aerial.

Rob: If your parents are served by the Budleigh Salterton relay there is a possibility of weak signals being received from Monday 28th March 2016. DUK usually announce planned engineering work on a week by week basis, hence the information is somewhat non-specific. If you give a postcode for your parents' location, or that of a nearby public building, a more accurate check can be made on transmitters that are likely to serve the locality.

Emley Moor (Kirklees, England) transmitter
Saturday 2 April 2016 6:45PM

David: I agree it is a bad move. It was only necessary to move epg positions in Scotland and Wales, largely at the request of the local tv stations that were placed at channel 23 in those countries. These could have gone to position 8 and BBC Alba to 7 in Scotland. Wales could have put C4 in position 7, or better still position 4, with S4C repositioned to number 7. An opportunity has been wasted.
