Thanks for the info, but where FEC changes have just happened (e.g. Winter Hill) are we users meant to retune or do anything at all at this stage?

Thanks

My Freeview reception is from Winter Hill and so I was concerned to read the news today (see below) that Winter Hill is likely to be one of the worst hit areas for interference from 4G. Any ideas why? Also, what exactly do the filters do (see below) - will they block reception to a mobile phone as well? Also, what is a 'professional refit'.

"The government has promised filters to homes in the affected areas that will block the 4G signal or £50 towards a professional refit, which will be paid for from the £180 million pool provided by mobile companies.

The areas likely to be worst hit identified by OfCom include those served by the Crystal Palace transmitter in London and the Winter Hill transmitter in Lancashire".

Does anyone know why there is a Freeview recommended RETUNE for Winter Hill on 3rd September? Could it be anything to do with the poor COM7 in the Southport area? I've just lost the three BBC HD COM7 channels (BBC News HD, BBC4 HD and CBeebiesHD) and not sure yet why - but could be my aerial has moved in the recent winds.

I live close to the poor Southport reception area for COM 7 from Winter Hill. I used to be able to receive the COM 7 hd channel with an old standard aerial, but it moved in the wind and now I have lost the COM7 HD channels. What type of aerial should I buy as a replacement to ensure I can get the missing channels back?

Thanks

Re COM7 problems with Winter Hill. I have had two separate transmission problems with two independent TV sets and two independent aerials over a period of a few weeks this autumn, and I have overcome both by spending some money; in one case re-newing a very old aerial and cable, and in the second case, reconnecting and repositioning a two year old aerial and cable. Complaining to Digital UK was a waste of time, giving me a bog-standard reply about no reported transmitter problems, therefore it must be me. But I do believe, from what I've read on this forum, is that you have to have a 100% perfect aerial set up in order to receive what is apparently a poor COM 7 transmission from Winter Hill in certain areas.
