Below are all of JOHN DICKSON's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page. Thanks to StevenOnln1 ,sorry for delay, don't turn on every day! Actually I have two Humax's, also an older HDR Fox12,which WAS tuned to 95,so tuned manually to 95 on new Humax, but still signal too weak to show anything but that message, but lo- and- behold the old box works well, just a very occaisional split- second blip . The old box has a few films and music in it's various folders, which you cannot do on the new one, so it is normally turned off at mains as both remotes interfere with each other(not necsessarily the same functions!)So I can actually get the NASCAR now,but have to remember to turn it on at the mains the evening before it broadcast at some unnatural hour, but it will not accept "series" record on the guide. All very odd-particularly the fact that the newer box appears to need a stronger signal to work than the older one.Any ideas or comments welcome, but I believe that you are right that the Bluebell Hill tower is ours ,much nearer than CrystalPalace and no hills in the way.Look forward to hearing from you anyway ,John

Thanks again for your help.i have checked the signals and both show signal from c34.the New humax which won't show 95 gives a strngth of 76%and quality of 100%.only a few percent down from bbc1 at 86% and 100%.the old box which does work showed figures of 51% and 100% but works just fine on channel 95.this all seems rather odd to say the least.incidently are you connected with Freeview 95 or whatever or just a helpfull member of public?
either way thanks for your help and interest, look forward to hearing from you again, john

Hello again, you must be getting a bit tired of this, but i have done a tune again on the newer humax that will not show 95,but does indicate c34(bluebell hill) as you said, but it still doesn't show anything but an occaisional frozen image if it gets past the weak signal message which is normally all you get . as a matter of interest i set the TV itself to the antenna input, which hasn't been used for two or three years i would guess, and 95 showed up as a childrens channel,so i retuned it on auto in about 5 minutes and it now shows 95 freesport perfectly well, allthough the picture quality like all the channels is marginally worse.
i remain puzzled, but indebted to you for your patience and help.john

Sevenoaks
I discovered Nascar on channel 802 the other night and recorded it only to find a comment that there was either no, or a weak signal.I tried again to record yesterday morning(19th)at 6.30 I think, but the picture was heavily pixilated and unwatchable, but scrolling through at 2 or 4 times the picture was fairly clear and consistent, but of course meaningless to actually watch.I have found various references to channel 95,but this is a chidrens channel. My postcode is TN15 7SB,near Maidstone and I use a Humax FVP 4000 digibox, which is partly dependant on my broadband to operate as I understand it,which is abysmally slow-anything from .005 to 1.6 Mg /minute.How can I get a watchable picture and obtain a quide to what is on.
Your help wold be much appreciated.
