I have read on a internet board that BBC HD and BBC One HD have disappeared from the SKY HD receivers add channels option. I assume this is because SKY HD receivers add channels, only offer 22.0, 27.5 and 29.5 Symbol Rates.

Mike Dimmick: The Panasonic has four symbol rate options when it scans in other channels mode. They are Auto, 22000, 27500 and 29500. If I scan the transponder using the Auto option it picks up the names of the channels, BBC HD, BBC One HD, ITV HD and 6945 and puts them in the channel list. When I go to watch BBC HD or BBC One HD all I see on the screen is "No Signal", while ITV HD shows encrypted at the bottom of the screen and "No Signal" in the centre.
With the receiver in Freesat mode I still get the "No Signal" on the screen with BBC HD and BBC One HD, but when I press the "Guide" button on the remote all the EPG is there. The Panasonic is receiving some information from the satellite, but unfortunately not the bit I want to watch.

Briantist: I have been onto Panasonic about the problem I have been having and it is now resolved. Freesat channels 108 and 109 are now back to normal.

David: According to a response from Panasonic to the What Satellite web site it mentions that, "we have discovered that when a user has the BBC One HD and BBC HD services stored in the Other Satellite Services List, the user will have to perform a shipping condition reset to recover the BBC HD services". Although no mention is made of this in their response, if you have BBC One HD and BBC HD in your Other Satellites Service List for the Astra 2 and Eurobird 1 satellites try deleting them and do a Auto Freesat scan and see if this resolves your problem.

D Elliott: You will have to edit the transponder details to,
Frequency 10847
H/V Vertical
S/R 23000
DVB Standard DVB.S2
Modulation QPSK
FEC 8/9.
If at any time you get "No Signal" check the FEC. If it as changed to 3/4 alter it back to 8/9.

Ian Batty: Checking the KRP-500A manual on the Pioneer web site, it seems as though you can edit a satellite transponder. Check the information on pages 33 to 34. If you select manual setting put in a Frequency 10847, Polarization Vertical and Symbol Rate 23000. It shows that you can select a symbol rate of 22000 or 27500 or type in one using the 0 to 9 buttons.

Briantist: I see that the BBC will be broadcasting the womens and mens Wimbledon finals in 3D on the BBC HD channel, Freesat 109.

Briantist: I assume they will be broadcast in HD at the same time on BBC One HD, for all the viewers who don't have a 3D ready television.

Briantist: BBC HD is now testing in 3D. Two pictures side by side on my 2D television.

MarcSimms: Unfortunately good luck will not work. Either the BBC change the Symbol Rate to one that my Freesat receiver will recognize, (22000, 27500 or 29500) or Panasonic quickly bring out an update. At least Channel 4 had the sense to use a Symbol Rate of 27500 on their DVB-S2 HD channel.
